Lady Margaret School will celebrate its 100th birthday on 29 September 2017 and throughout the academic year 2017 -18  will be celebrating their Centenary.

At this special time in the school’s history they would like to reach out to Old Girls of Lady Margaret School and ask those who are not already in contact through alumnae organisation LMX, to get in touch

They would like to invite previous pupils back to the school to celebrate the Centenary and would also welcome the support of the local community, business and friends in realising their ambitious plans.

The school has a series of events planned: a Birthday Party at school 30 September (12-5, a Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday 17 October, a production of Noye’s Fludde at Cadogan Hall, Chelsea on Sunday 11 March (tickets available to the general public), and there are other events and ideas being planned .

The Birthday Party at school on Saturday 30 September (12-5) is open to the local community, will launch Lady Margaret School’s Centenary programme and celebrate what is now and what was then.  If you’re an Old Girl you are invited to see the changes, reunite with old class mates and be a part of the history.   If you’re a local resident and have never been through the gates before, are considering the school for your daughter or are keen to hear about the history go along and get to know the school better

In addition to acknowledging the past, they will be creating legacies for future generations to enjoy as a result of fundraising activities taking place throughout the year. The Centenary Garden will provide much needed space and tranquility for pupils and the community alike and requires £80,000 to complete it.  We will also be mindful of those girls less fortunate  and will support girls who have not had the same opportunities through an educational charity chosen by the pupils in July 2017.

The Centenary will be acknowledged on a daily basis in school. Activities planned include inviting 100 women to meet and inspire our girls and committing to 100 acts of kindness during Lent in 2018.
