Over 8000 people came to enjoy Parsons Green Fair resurrected by the fabulous local charity ‘Fulham Good Neighbours’ with sponsorship and support from Marston Properties Ltd .
The main stage hosted local dance troops , Stagecoach stage school and Fulham Brass Band as well as various acts including a man who climbed in to a balloon. There were over 100 stalls selling hand made pottery , bicycles, cakes, cards jewelry, rugs and home wares amoungst other things. Local amenity groups were well represented including Fulham and Chelsea WI and the Hammersmith and Fulham History Society . There was loads to do for small children to do including donkey rides, a petting zoo and several fair rides .
Fulham Society hosted a stand giving the opportunity to Marstons, established in Fulham in 1895, to display some of their photo archive. Several people visiting the stand were delighted to see the photos from the 1930’s showing the building of Fulham Maternity Home – where they were born ! The building is now Parsons Green Health Clinic .
