Planning permission still pending
Planning permission has been submitted to demolish Quayside Lodge ( currently an occupied commercial office building) and replace it with a 10 storey block of 110 residential apartments of mixed tenure ( affordable and open market) 2017/03561/FUL. Quayside Lodge can be seen between the Imperial Wharf Crescent and Regent on the River – it would rise to match Regent on the River in height
There is also a PD application lodged ( permitted development allows a B1 use building to be converted to residential use without planning permission but it must remain within the existing envelope ) proposing 32 flats that would be accommodated within the existing building
Quayside Lodge is not an attractive building but it is a place of work for a lot of people – Fulham like other Boroughs is losing a lot of commercial building floor area. Fulham Society has requested that the existing commercial floor area be retained if the new larger building is permitted . The new building would be sandwiched between two equally tall buildings – Regent Riverside at 9 storeys plus mansard and The new Watermeadow building, if permitted would be at 11 storeys.
