October update

Plans have been approved for a 33 room dementia care home. The site will provide a residential home for those requiring 24 hour nursing care.

It is reported that the current owners are looking to sell the building with planning permission to an end user. The owner is unlikely to carry out the development so there is a chance if it isn’t sold that it will continue to sit empty . External repairs have been carried out to the listed building so it is looking more cared for.

Originally called The Elizabethan School built in 1854 specialising in caring for children with TB .  It became a Youth Club, called The Castle Club until 2007.

The original plan by Thackery Estates  was to let the building to Fulham Prep to house a senior school. These plans were shelved in favour of the care home application.
