Planning White Papers

Planning for the Future

Planning for the Future

The Government published two papers for consultation on the planning system in August 2020. One proposed a change in the way housing targets for regions and individual local authorities were set. They were to be based on an algorithm and met with a lot of criticism.

The other, Planning for the Future, was for comprehensive changes to the planning system. The Fulham Society supports the Government’s aspirations for an efficient, well-resourced planning system that supports local involvement in designing, planning and creating great places for current and future generations. We doubt, however, that these proposals will achieve that.

Fulham Society’s response to the consultation on proposed changes to the Planning System can be read here.

The Society supports the London Forum and contributed to their fuller, more detailed response. It can be read here.
