July 2020 – Plans approved for a 90-room boutique hotel and events venue July 2020. In February 2020, the Lamington Group was appointed head tenant.

After standing empty for several years the Town Hall was sold in 2019 to a family company, Ziser London. They appointed East London-based Droo Projects as architects. Plans were submitted for a 90-room boutique hotel and events venue in June 2019 and approved in July 2020 (ref 2019/01840/FUL). https://public-access.lbhf.gov.uk/online-applications/simpleSearchResults.do?action=firstPage Exterior and interior features of the building will be largely preserved; the first-floor committee rooms and concert hall will become co-working office spaces; and a public restaurant will face Fulham Road on the ground floor. The old debating chamber will continue to be used for events such as weddings. The plans include an extension of four storeys into the rear car park and a one-storey roof extension, stepped so that it is not visible from Fulham Road.

In February 2020, the Lamington Group, who is responsible for developing the room2 “hometel” brand, agreed a 20-year lease to be the headline tenant at Fulham Town Hall. The work was expected to commence in May 2020 with the first guests welcomed in early 2022.

Fulham Town Hall was completed in 1890 and two later extensions were built in 1904 and 1934.  It is now listed as Grade II*.
